Tribute to Ka Bel

Crispin “Ka Bel” Beltran was a true champion of the working class — a fearless labor leader, activist, and legislator who dedicated his entire life to fighting for the rights and dignity of Filipino workers. From his humble beginnings as a taxi driver and union organizer, Ka Bel rose to become one of the most respected voices of the labor movement in the Philippines. He never wavered in his commitment to justice, equality, and national sovereignty, even in the face of imprisonment and political persecution. As a representative in Congress, he remained steadfast in amplifying the struggles of the poor and the marginalized, embodying integrity and service above self. Ka Bel’s courage, simplicity, and unwavering principles continue to inspire generations of Filipinos to stand up for truth, defend human rights, and work toward a society where every worker lives with dignity and freedom.
